🌟🔋EBRA extends its scope to include battery reuse and repurposing! 🔋🌟

During the 2023 General Assembly, EBRA Members voted in favour of extending the scope of the association to include, on top of battery sorting and recycling, also battery reuse and repurposing. 🔨

From now on, EBRA will start covering those new aspects of the battery circular economy. ♻️

♻️Reuse and repurposing describe all those activities which lead to a battery that, after reaching the end of its first use phase, to be used again, without undergoing recycling, in the same or in a different application, thus extending its lifetime.

🚩Reuse and repurposing play a key role in the quest of making the battery sector more sustainable and competitive.

For this reason, EBRA Members convened that the association should not exclude those important aspects from the discussions, which will now start to be looked at more and more.

EBRA is convinced this is the right step towards making the European battery sector more competitive, resilient, and relevant in the decision-making process, defending the interests of all stakeholders in the battery EoL. 🌍

Companies active in the reuse and repurposing of batteries in Europe are welcome to reach out to EBRA and to become members, joining the quest for a more sustainable future together with us. 👥🤝
